    Hi,

Im a mid to high handicapper who is getting a new driver. I have never had much fun with the driver but am going to give it another go.

Was in the golf shop in Elverys in Dundrum yesterday looking to buy a driver and saw that both these drivers have been reduced to €150.

Has anybody any advice on which one would suit a mid to high handicapper better and which is the more forgiving driver. Also, if you have any other suggestions fire away (but €150 would be the top end of my budget)

    Thanks

I'll sell you an MD 10.5* Draw Bias with a regular UST Proforce v2 65g shaft that will guarantee you forgiveness with it's 460cc classic head shape for €70 ono.
    Mint condition with head cover.
Only selling as i prefer my 12* MD driver to get bit more height.
But this club will keep you in play!

I bought a burner a while ago and it took about four shots off my handicap immediately. Now I hit about 30 yards further than before but more importantly I consistantly hit the fairways. That was always a bit of a lottery for me!

Dun Laoghaire golf club were selling Mizuno Mx700 Drivers for €125 recently. I have one since last summer and find it quite easy to hit and get good distance with it.

    Thanks for the replies.

Yeah its not about distance really that I'm looking for, its just consistency that I want. I would love to be able to hit "boring" straight drives that will set me up for irons.

Personally, I think I would be pushing towards the TM Burner. Any advice on shafts etc?

Whatever driver you go for the only advice I would give you is to play it at 45" max. A lot of modern drivers are 46/47" which does not help with getting a solid hit off the middle of the club.

I bought an MX700 10.5 degree a while back and I would highly recommend it. I am a high handicapper too and I do not have the same fear stepping up to the first tee now. I am able to hit the ball straighter more of the time with this club. I find I can keep it on the fairway with about 80% of my drives now.

I also would recommend the MX 700 and am a high handicapper also, it's a real nice driver.
