Volvo wheels stolen - North Tipperary

    Hi all,

My house in Kilcommon, North Tipp., was robbed over the past couple of weeks. In the course of same the inbreeds took my 480 turbo wheels - all four of them - and I thought I'd post here in the hope (albeit vain) that someone might spot them somewhere.

They aren't super rare, but rare enough. They're likely to turn up in Nenagh, Limerick or Thurles (if at all) and there's every likelihood that they could make their way to a dismantler's. I'd been getting pestered by a guy driving a Ford Cargo with grab (blue with 'Banger 82' written on the side in white) ... traveller stock I do believe, from Limerick. As you probably guessed, I've a few cars about.

They may also turn up on donedeal, adverts.ie, or buyandsell. I know there are some dedicated folk on here who trawl these sites on a regular basis, so I thought I'd put the word out. The wheels have pretty good tyres, as per the photo. I know I'll likely never see them again, but am more interested in getting a pointer in the right direction generally.

    Thanks in advance,

    Tony.

    Tony.

****e news... Hate that, had stuff taken a couple of times over the years. Now on the subject of the truck is it an actual cargo (80s one) or a iveco cargo/eurocargo?

I havn't seen a blue one of either type around limerick city and surrounding areas particularly not with banger 82 written on it. Could have a look out rathkeale was as well. A lot of lads haulin scrap these days both travellers and settled.
Though i'd say the wheels will most likely end up weighed in for scrap, either that or end up in some van on the way to the UK to a dodgy breaker's yard, and yeah they're not unobtainable but they're rare enough alright, unlikely that traveller fellas in particular would know the ins and outs of obscure volvo parts however, any kind of commercial or volkswagen or toyota though and they probably know things not even the manufacturers knew

    Hi Conrad,

Yes, incredibly enough we're talking the mid 1980's Ford Cargo. I hadn't seen one in years myself either!

You might want to stick this up in the main motors forum. It tends to get a lot more traffic than the classic forum and theres a better chance someone will recognise the wheels or the truck.

    .

We also had some bits taken from our place in North Tipp recently too!

Namely a 1200 beetle engine, complete with tin-ware,exhaust etc. And a VW 1.6 n/a diesel engine (JP code - block only).

I'm advised they probably took them for scrapweight...but, oddly, they dug through, and moved, heavier stuff out of the way to get to the engines

Again, chances are I'll never see them again...but just incase...

I would do but I'm banned for life from the Motors forum (I look forward to posting there in the afterlife though :pac:)

I'm not urgently looking, but those wheels sound nice and I may well take them off you in the future. Right now any offer I could make would be an insult

Sorry to hear that. In my case the feckers broke in initially to knock off the mains at the consumer unit, which of course disabled the outside PIR lights along with everything else. Cars outside a house are like honey to a bee.
