    Hi,

Has anyone done this course? If so, How did you find it?

Is it only really for Management already in the Public Service?

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes.

I thought it was very good, but a lot of that had to do with the fact that I'd worked for over 25 years in the public service before doing the course. There's also a strong cross-Border dimension; the course is jointly run by LYIT and the University of Ulster, and its design was supported by the Department of the Taoiseach and the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister. Participants are public service managers from organisations in both jurisdictions.

The content is specifically designed for management in public service organisations, and I'm not sure how much useful learning you'd get out of it if you weren't working in the public service. In any case, the entry requirements say that you have to be in relevant employment in the public service, and that participants will be drawn from those identified by their organisation as being charged with implementing strategic change programmes.
