hey guys, i was reading in the KOTH thread, that pfm moved home and can't cast games on that connection, i'd like to help out where i can, was trying some streaming software last night.

The two i used, were Xsplit and Dyyno, both caused me a lot of fps lag while playing 4v4's, i don't think it's a connection issue as i've got a decent broadband http://www.speedtest.net/result/1318390045.png

Does anyone recommend another software for me to use, or is there something i can do to fix the problem, (for free)

I'd like to be able to show the desktop, not just Directx or java programs.
    Here is my stream

Your upload still kinda blows... but should be ok I guess. Reduce the resolution you're streaming at. Increase audio bitrate. Don't dual screen while you do it unless you have a beast of a cpu/gpu.

    http://root-destiny.com/newbies-guide-to-streaming/

Here is a good guide from destiny, who makes a living off streaming.

Don't stream in your resolution(as in use your res when playing but use a lower res to push out to the stream) At the moment you don't need a 1080 res stream until you get more people.

Frame rate should go down to 20-22 it dose'nt really matter that much.

Audio try to have this at highest kbps

When streaming, you need to find the settings for your upload. So if your getting a 1mb upload, try pushing out 600kbps see how it is, if it lags push it down a bit, or lower res.

try 720 res first and then 420. Most people wont notice it unless they full screen the stream.

your nvidia is it 1gb or 750mb?

I would suggest trying to one monitor it for a while incase too much strain is on the gfx card. Also maybe lower the graphics on SC2(again strain on the graphics card)

The main thing is tinkering around with the settings, such as frame rates, resolution and your kbps

I would suggest using xsplit, and using the same resolution you use for starcraft.. I streamed once or twice to show a mate what it was like, and I didnt have any issues.

dont do this, whats the point in streaming 1080 when your upload is only it will lagg so badly 1mb?

you need to find a nice balance between reslution, FPS and your kbps
