This place on Aungier St had a good rep and I had regularly popped in when I was in the area. I only noticed yesterday that despite the same appearance, the name changed. Has it changed hands does anyone know?

Nope, same owner but they had to change the name for legal reasons. A famous cocktail bar in London had the same name first. They had a competition amongst the customers to pick the new name and " The Humble Bean" came out on top. Great idea!

I think Moses got the name first, didn't he? By several thousand years.....or does infringement not go back that far?

Ah, thats good to know. It's a shame they had to change the name after they had established themselves. Anyway, am sure 'The Humble Bean' will be quick to settle in too. Won't be afraid to cross the threshold now. Have got too timid, as am sick of paying over good money for crap, so get v. particular before I do!
