Angel Of Evil (Vallanzasca - Gli angeli del male).

Really liked this and surprised that, on reading some of the reviews (after I seen it) what a poor reception it has had. Okay, not a classic by any means but seems to have a got a real panning and mostly undeserved I feel.

Without question the film is somewhat messy, your not quite sure what is going on at certain points of the film and the viewer is left to fill a few holes with their imagination and also to forget about some elements of the story which seem to get left behind, which of course is frustrating, but in saying all that, I liked it, very much in fact.

Basically it's the story of Renato Vallanzasca, the Italy's version of our General really. Very charismatic villian who for a number of reasons, the Italian public have come to be fond of him, dispite his sins. His Wiki page makes for interesting reading alone:

Anway, far from perfect but well worth watching. If you can overlook it's imperfections and see past them in fact, there is a really good movie underneath it all. Just a shame they weren't dealt with when making it as it could have been a classic.

Don't advise watching the trailer if you plan on seeing it, as it gives a lot away, but here it is anyway:

Seems to be a bit of a Mesrine cash in? Been a lew of these type of movies the last couple of years what with Mesrine, Gomorrah and the awesom A Prophet.
