Hi. I have been looking at ways of cutting my call charges as we will be moving office shortly. We have an ISDN line, separate PSTN, 6Mb broadband and are paying around €200 per month inc call charges. This does not include our mobiles.

I don't really need the ISDN and am reluctant to pay another €200 to have the line moved anyway.

    I am considering the following:

    1. Switch my main number to PSTN
    2. Transfer both PSTN to new location.
    3. Switch main PSTN to VOIP. This will cost €9.99 per month with Blueface and give us unlimited landline calls(UK/Ire).
    4. Take out Three mobile iphone offer for business. Ths costs €75 but includes unlimited mobile calls as well as landlines(UK/Ire).
    5. Switch second PSTN and broadband from Eircom to Imagine. This will cost €35 per month. We won't need 6Mb broadband in the new office.

I reckon this will save around €80 per month. More probably as we will make more use of the unlimited landline calls.

My questions here is am I missing anything out.

    Thanks for reading.

I recommend porting your lines to Blueface before moving premises as this can take upto 20 days. If you downgrade your line from ISDN to PSTN there will be a charge from eircom for this. They will also charge for moving the lines from one premises to another. If you are moving out of your current exchange area you will also loose your advertised number.

By porting your number to Blueface you can operate with your existing number over a broadband line. I recommend keeping your 6mb broadband as a minimum speed. The Blueface €9.99 package that you mentioned is for 1 line. I recommed the small office €34.95 package, 2 channels & 1 fax.

Regarding the mobiles I would recommend emobile, €69.95 unlimited calls & texts with 3gb data.

We supply & install Panasonic VOIP phone systems and the Blueface lines connect to this unit. If you would like to see more info on the system, check out our website on the following link

    Hi,

Its very messy using a mobile for mobile calls and a landline for other calls. We use Blueface Business and they are excellent. They have business plans which include 250 mobile minutes and 8 lines, which you can port to.

I would start the port before you move over and make sure it is ported before you move in.
You will require broadband however with Blueface.

    I hope this helps!

Check your router has "quality of service" enabled for your voip calls. Otherwise downloading a large file could interfere with you phone calls.

We were in a similar position also, but we had already moved in the same exchange.

Its messy getting staff to use the mobile to call mobiles and the voip phones for everything else. Blueface have a plan that you get 8 lines and 250 mobile minutes, irish/uk minutes for 69euro per month.

Note that blueface don't allow you to use residential plans for business. Port all your numbers to the Blueface Plus plan and then setup blueface in your new office just in time.

How many phones do you need, as you will need to allow computers and phones on a 1 or 2 connection? It will be tight and you will need QoS.

I would switch every number you have to blueface and get imagine new. It is better to use your advertised line with voip so you can setup a pbx in the future with SIP etc.

    HTH.
