How egotistical are you?

I think excessive egoism is one of the most common personality flaws. In my experience, 99% of the time when somebody does something nasty or stupid it is their ego that's behind it all. There's nothing more pathetic than an adult who has not learned to keep their ego in check, and who throws the toys out of the pram when it is dented.

We all have an ego to some extent, and we all have to learn to keep it under control, but we're not always successful at that. How egotistical are you? And how does your ego manifest itself?

To get the ball rolling, I would consider my own ego to be moderate, and I find it is most likely to come out when authority figures whom I consider to be lacking in ability or intellect attempt to impose things on me. It is a hard thing to do, but I usually manage to grin and bear it.

I treat certain authority figures with utter contempt. Respect is to be earned, not assumed. It's not the gardai by the way.

I think it's kind of hard to stick something like this to just four options. I'm not saying there should be more, it's jsut very difficult : P I'm very egotistical but keep it in check. Although I'm pretty sure it shines through on occasions.

In my younger days I was probably an ego manic, not so anymore. If I see people laughing, sometimes I might think they're laughing at me. That can't be a good mental state of mind. I'm probably talking more about confidence here really.
I'll need to restore it somehow.
