You should try to get an ID, even if it's just to get into places, as most of the initial clicks form in the Freshers week, and the majority of that takes place in night clubs. Of course this isn't a problem if you're confident and whatnot, but could be hard for shy people to approach a bunch of people who are talking about "the lethal craic last night".

I know a girl who was just gone 17 when she started college, never had a problem getting served anywhere.

I would have been in the same boat as her if I didn't take a year out to make some money beforehand. Don't let the age thing worry you if you're young - loads of house parties

I'm 19 now, going 20 in July so I shall be that age for my Debs and for college.

I was held back twice in 3rd class and repeated 3rd year so that explains me being old for going to college.

Luckily that will make me a little bit older than most of the people on my course, which is good because then very few people will try and give me orders or look down on me.
