My parents want to keep me back a year as they say I'm too young. They didn't keep me back in first year though, and seeing how I'm in Hon./Ord. in different subjects can they keep me back in second year?

Not from what I have heard. The year below you could be full and the school may not let you drop down because you would have covered everything already and would be sitting there bored for the year. Can you not just do Transition Year if you're too young? I've only heard of someone being allowed to repeat the year by moving schools or through genuine illness where they missed the entire year and weren't able to keep up with work from home/hospital.

You can't be 'too young' if you were the regulation age starting first year (I think it's 12 by November 1st - might be wrong on the date). For someone who is coping with the levels as you are, it would seem counter-productive to me.

If they just want you to do an extra year, TY would seem the obvious (and more useful in terms of growing up) time to do it.

To be fair, your teachers would have a much better idea as to how you are likely to do.
