    Hey guys,

I'm having trouble fitting a nunckuck style battery into my KA FAL tactical carbine. No matter how I poke and prod the thing it just won't fit in there.

Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

In case he misses the thread, try PM-ing Bullets - I'm pretty sure he has the full range of FAL's, so he should be able to help

He does indeed. Not a bad idea, thanks.

Just got home and checked my King Arms FAL.
Tried both a real steel handguard and the original KA one.

Your right Keggers crane stock/nunchuck batteries even the mini type
wont fit. Cells are too large a diameter.

Warning for others Pain in the Ass if the gun is front wired has no rails and
    has a skeletal stock!!!

The Pic on the manual the battery back looks thick certainly thicker
than the amount of available space.

Other than using a PEQ box and modding the handguard with a rail the only thing I can think of is using a Li-po battery with "flatter" cells.
    Something like this possibly:

I've no experience with Li-po's so hopefully someone else here on boards
can be of help with advising what type of Lipo would fit, if standard mini round cells are to large a diameter to fit the handguard on without force.

Sorry could not have been of help.

(PS. Knowing all of this I am still one day going to buy that variant and more as well as the one Oisin the moderator has, He's the full length version as well as a very very rare collectors FAL that is not made anymore) Keep an eye out on ebay too for wooden stocks/handguards (They dont fit without modification but look way better) and scopes that sometimes turn up!)

One other suggestion that you wont like!!! :D:D

The Gas Tube over the outer barrel is only cosmetic and is not seen when you have the handguard on. If you remove the gas plug and the dummy miniature gas piston and spring
(The piston rod is cute, wish it was full size like real steel)

you could dremel/cut this or section it on both sides to allow more space for a crane-stock style batteries cells to fit into it. And pop the gas plug back on.

This would work! and allow you to use a standard nun-chuck/cranestock or
stick type 8.4 or 9.6 Nimh battery.
