Does anyone else think Ireland should have their very own comedy/drama version of Desperate Housewives or Gosip Girl OR 90210?
I mean, the UK have loads of drama serieses and all we have is ONE soap. The opportunities for acting in Ireland is extremely limited, hence many actors going abroad for futher work?
Do you think Ireland should produce a drama/comedy series likened to the American shows that would provide coverage for unknown actors so they wouldn't have to move to the UK or America even to pursue their ambition?
I mean if we can produce Fade Street, surely we can produce a drama/comedy series that would get everyone talking?
TG4 has a brilliant TV programme "Aifric" It would be amazing,if only it were in English :(
Who agreses with me? Let's all write to RTE and start petitioning! :D:p

You should write to TV3. They have a good history of putting money into original home grown programming.

Yes of course in an ideal world we should be turning out good solid tv shows but in reality we don't seem to have the where with all or know how to do it!

Personally I'd like to see this, but see it done right.

It wouldn't work. American humour and Irish are completely different. It is too hard to imagine an Irish version of Wisteria Lane
