Worried about my girlfriend going away

    Hi,

I have been great friends with this girl for the last 4 years, and only started going recently. We are both madly in love with each other in a very short space of time. Things have developed a lot quicker than I had imagined.

There is one thing that is on my mind now. She is going away with 3 of her girlfriends later this summer for several weeks. I keep thinking to myself that I don't know if I trust her to go away or not. My heart says to stop being stupid and put all my trust in her. It my first relationship but her second (her first being not too serious).

I know she can get quite drunk on nights out and sometimes to the extent where she doesn't remember things. Her friends that she is going with are all single and I know 2 of them quite well. They are quite heavy party goers. I want to trust her, but I know I will just be worrying during the 6 weeks she is away. We are both in our early 20's.

My question is...am I wrong to be worrying about her on this trip?

Well, yeah tbh. Has she given you any indication that she's likely to cheat? Has she cheated before? If she hasn't then this is your issue, 100% and you need to ask yourself why you are so worried. You say you're both madly in love with each other so why would you not trust her?

The fact that she sometimes drinks til she can't remember is quite worrying but thats a separate issue really. The fact that her mates are "heavy party goers" doesn't automatically mean that they're promiscuous, and even if they are, do you really have so little faith in your girlfriend that you think she'll be pushed by her mates into cheating on you?

Its 6 weeks, it'll fly by.

Trust her and yourself while your at it.

The six weeks may well fly by but its good to give her the bit of space and allow her to miss you as much as you will prob miss her. Im sure she might even have the same reservations about you when your at home but whatever you do..dont do the whole, promising her you wont stray, only girl for me blah blah. Keep her mind on you.

Keep her on her toes and she wont have you far from her mind at all.
Dont worry about her friends, easily dealt with. You have the control here
