I've been having problems with the radio/CD player in my car for the past week (and this was BEFORE I changed the car's battery!). If playing a CD, a given track might play for a couple of seconds before starting to skip, the basic controls then seem to "freeze", that is the volume/ power etc won't work. I suspected a dirt laser in the player but this also happens when the CD player is empty and when the radio alone is used- the reception is completely broken up (staccato like) and again the basic controls are inoperable- it can be difficult to turn the radio when this happens, which is a bit of a pain. I tried one of those CD lens cleaner disc but the problem remains. Any ideas, or is this radio fit for the bin? Any help appreciated.
