    Hi guys,

My intel i7 - 950 (Socket 1366) is overheating a little with the stock heatsink and fan. It's idling at 75 - 80 degrees C. I applied thermal paste too and it worked a little but it's still too hot so I'm looking to purchase a good hs/fan. Any recommendations? Thank you!

Thats way to hot even for the stock cooler

    Is it overclocked?

Did you add more thermal paste in addition to what was on the base of cooler?
(to much paste is as bad as to little)

Are you sure cooler is seated right?
(those push pins can be a nightmare somtimes)

    Brutal temps.

Something's not right there, at all. As game4it suggested, make sure the cooler is seated properly. Also, you shouldn't have needed thermal paste; the cooler should come with some pre-applied.
