    Hey guys.

Just wondering if any of you artists out there had seen this and were thinking about doing something for it? It's for a new anthology comic being launched in October.

    http://stripcomicmagazineuk.blogspot.com/2011/05/will-you-be-in-strip-spotlight.html

They're looking for 6 page strips and the best
5 will see print in the mag and may even be given a regular slot as a
series if people like it enough. I've come up with something that
could be the 'pilot episode' of a series but also works as an
intriguing little one-off. I've also been a bit inventive with it in
that its broken down into 2 separate 3 page stories, which compliment
each other - you can basically figure out whats going on by reading
one half of the story, but to really get it and understand how it all
fits together you need to read both. One half is set in modern times
and focuses on the life of a cop, growing from boyhood to adulthood
and culminating in a drugbust that goes wrong. The other half is set
in ancient Egypt and tells the tale of an Egyptian prince who ends up
trying to foil a tomb-raiding plot. I was thinking of doing it as a
"flip-strip"....like a "flip-comic" except in 6 pages- you read three,
then flip the comic over, read the other three, and the two meet in
the middle right where the two storylines converge. Just to be a
little different and make it stand out a bit more.

Deadline is 21st July though so there's not much time for putting it together. If you are interested but 6 pages seems like it would be
a struggle, I'm toying with the idea of splitting
the art, as the two parts to the story are separate and possibly
having different art on each would make it even more unique. Anyway, just an idea.

For more info about the type of comics I write you can have a wee browse through my blog entries here: http://bountyquest.blogspot.com/
You can also have a look at this blog for info about a small-press comic I am putting together -

I know its a bit of a longshot but if there's anyone out there who happens to be interested in having a crack at this, drop me a message at dirkvandom@gmail.com

    Cheers!
