Buses to DCU

I had a search on the forum and couldn't find anything (and Dublin Bus website is crap if you don't know the area), so I was just wondering if anyone could post up a list of what buses serve DCU that stop in city centre? And also, any buses that serve DCU that also serve any part of the south side of the city?

I've only ever lived in the south side so I have no idea what buses go past O' Connell St >_> Any help appreciated :)

From O Connell st. there's the 4, 4A, 11, 13, 13A, 19A (but not the 19) that all go to the Ballymun road entrance.

Also a bunch that would go to Collins Avenue/Swords road (the 41s etc.).

Is it far to walk from Collins Ave/Swords Rd?

About 3 or 4 minutes from where the bus would drop you to the main entrance (Helix-side) I'd say.

what part of south side are you coming from?
I know the 4 goes to Backrock and Monkstown, and stops right outside DCU.

Number 4, 11/a/b, 19a, 13/a from O'Connel Street leave you directly at Ballymun Road entrace

Number 16/a, 3 from O'Connel St leave you bottom end of Collins Ave (Ten Min Walk)

Edit: Ooops, Someone had beat me to it :D

    Usain Bolt, is that you?

11 and 19A are going to be gone soon, at the end of the month I think.

You sure? I've been reading in Commuting and Transport that they aren't going to axe the 11 northside?

Also the 19A isn't going away, it's just going to simply be the 19, and the old 19 will merge with the 83.

You seem to be right about the 19A becoming 19. 19 and 11 are "merging" which doesn't make sense as their routes are very different, probably just means that the 11 will be gone.

4 being cut down is apparently being listed as an "improvement".

The Swords Road/Collins Avenue bus stop is 10-15 minutes walk from DCU, but buses would be a bit more regular than at the DCU stop on the Ballymun Road.

Anyone know which bus is quickest for getting to DCU, or do they all take the same route?

They nearly all take slightly different routes but often time can be the same when traffic comes into it. I think some people say 19a is faster.

    19/a or the 4, usually

Shame the 11 will be no more. It was the cleanest and safest bus route to DCU because it stopped in Wadlei and avoided Finglas/Ballymun. That may sound snobby but that's just the way it is.

The 11 hasn't been abolished, just reduced to a 30min frequency
