Hi all, I have to work out a friction required for a part of my project, i've never dealt with friction properly before and i know it will probably be an easy answer but i just have not got a clue! Ok sao I have bottles that are to be moved along a conveyor belt (that I designed, so I have no idea of weight, material etc.) All I have is that the mass of each bottle is 0.0225 kg, also there would be 8 moving along the conveyor at one time (if that makes any difference). Any help would be really appreciated.

I know there will be a few of you thinking that I am an idiot but hey, at least i'm asking to learn.

    Thanks

    PS: It's a horizontal belt.

How do I work out the force needed to move the bottles on the conveyor belt, sorry if I wasn't clear in what I asked :o, I need to select a motor to power the belt so I need the force required (unless I am totally wrong here)

Also the bottles are to travel the length of the conveyor belt
    (1.5m) in fifteen seconds.
