mk3 escort (looking for)

    i am looking for a peviously owned family car. it is a 1981 mk3 escort reg number 738 LZL,it was owned by my aunt in 1985. Mywheels says it was last taxed in 1996 and has not been scrapped or written off.

    If it hasn't been taxed since 1996 then it most definitely is scrapped. The tax book was probably just never handed in and is still lying in a drawer somewhere.

    Sadly VolvoMan is right, it was just of the age to be scrapped in 1996, it may even have been a scrappage scheme car of the time.

    It's unlikely to have survived.

    I had a mk3 Escort in '94/95 & they were getting thin on the ground then.

    The first major scrappage scheme started a year or two later & most of those remaining at the time didn't survive the cull.
