    hey gang

i am interested in buying an accord executive ctdi (year 2004)- or whatever 6000euro here in germany can buy - this means the car will have around 110 k miles on the clock.

i am just wondering what you guys are getting to a tank of diesel?

what mpg figures are you getting?

have you had any problems with the car?

Does the timing chain or any timing chain related parts ever need replacing?

thanks for reading folks, and have a nice Sunday!

    ed

If there is no proper service history then walk away.
Using the wrong grade of engine oil (anything other than fully synth 0w30 C2) meant timing chain issues with the 2.2 Honda diesel engine.
Honda extended the warranty to 7 years, but you need service history for that.
The early models suffered from cracking exhaust manifolds, hence the extended warranty on that as well.
VSA (combined traction control and ABS module) gives trouble as well, mainly on diesels. If the mileage is above 100 000 km than no warranty...
