Grand Steeple Chase de Paris is on tomorrow although I haven't heard of any of them other than Rubi Ball...

Prix La Barka hurdle has Thousand Stars, Final Approach, Zaynar (now with Nick Williams) and Berties Dream

    Good bit of interest there

I'll never back a Mullins' horse over there, they run brutal. English runners tend to have an abysmal time of it too

I can never understand why Horses from here are such a big price in france.

Thousand Stars (2nd at Aintree and 2nd at Punchestown) 10/1
Final Approach (County Hurdle winner, MCR Hurdle winner) 33/1
Zaynar 21/1 even after finishing 3rd lto giving away lumps of weight

If i remember right Quevega was a massive price there last year after bolting up at punchestown last year

There is a race tomorrow in a place called Lion D'Angers, a cross country race worth €50k to the winner. A couple of Irish horses and jockeys going over for it. Will we be able to have a bet on thet over here?

Some kind of a link to it here.

I don't think there is any way to have a bet or to see it over here.

Grand Crus is 15/8 best price I think - looks a decent bet IMO

Can't say I'd back it. Never like backing British horses in France over jumps, hard to gauge the form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 453 ✭✭Denners.ie

I find that the French always underestimate the British and Irish horses when they go over. Hope Thousand Stars puts up a big run, Mourad hasn't a chance on the ground. I think Grand Crus will win, ground will suit him perfectly.

Great for the horse and connections for it to win. What a game horse.

Had Grand Crus backed but happy that Thousand Stars won it, has ran some crackers since it won the County without getting his head in front.

What a hero of a horse, real battler.

I didn't realise the race was over that distance. Very versatile. Placed in an Irish Champion and wins over 3 miles 2. Pity Katie wasn't on it.
