Triax TR 112 as PVR...memory stick or HD?

Lads...which is the better option. I've been using a 16GB memory stick (and tried a few others too) and keep getting the message that the device is not fast enough...but I use it anyway. So would an external hard drive running at 7200 rpm be a better option? I don't actually have one so can't test it for myself.

    Hi,
Did you get anywhere with this problem?
Mine will only record when I'm there to clear the message.
    I'm using a usb stick

    Thanks

Hi Paul. No I'm in the same boat as you.

A lot of these boxes require a minimum of 9mb/sec recording speed. A lot of older USB sticks are fairly low.

Use a Hard drive or a higher speed (not size) USB stick.

I just ordered the 32Gb version of this: Read 32Mb, Write 12Mb.

The 64Gb version of this stick has a better Write of 18Mb - would that make a difference?

Can anyone recommend a memory stick for the Saorview Triax TR112?

Is this speed errror a software problem on the Triax? Could it be fixed?

    Thanks.

Thanks but I saw that video before. USBs should work but going by the previous posts there are problems.

It seems my best bet is a external drive, not powered by USB and not a large storage capacity. As these have faster R/W speeds. (Actually, can anyone post a link of such a hard drive? (I have searched but all I can get are portable USB powered ones in a small size.)

USB keys seem according to other posts not fast enough thus 'speed errors'. I cancelled the Transcend USB keys I ordered yesterday. From what I make out these have the fastest speeds amoungst USB 2.0 keys. Yet a previous poster said that the Transcend key didn't work. (TV Trade sell a 32Gb Transcend USB.)

It seems with the USB if the 'speed error' comes up, if you are on the spot, you can cancel the error message and record. But some posts also said that you can't select a programme off the EPG to record that maybe on 48 hours later as it won't record.

So unless someone can tell me otherwise there is no point in me investing in USB keys if they don't work on the Triax TR112.
