Now that we have a proper TV service we should campaign for the ridiculous dog to be dropped. With 8 channels on SAORVIEW it is totally superfluous and as RTE slavishly copied Sky they should now continue that trend and drop the dog as Sky have done.

RTE 2 HD will be ruined if RTE insist on the onscreen channel naming, its looks what it is pathetic but how can we complain when RTE bounce the emails!!!

RTE please look at sky and adopt and if you need guidance on how to do it look at BBC1HD, BBCHD.

HD = amazing picture quality it should not be distorted with a totally useless and unnecessary onscreen DOG.

I have a HD tv why should I need to be told that I am watching a HD program its obivious. Thats why I bought the TV in the first place.

And why the ONE and TWO???? why not a smaller rte1 and rte2hd made almost invisible and then faded out when the programme starts.

At least do it for quality films, sports, and documentaries.

For a lesson look at Sky Atlantic HD.

I wont hold my breath. After I complained it took TG4 about a year to drop the logo during sports!!!

    I just hope it happens.

    Take heed.

i doubt iy was because of you tg4 changed. As saorview is new they more than likly want to over emphaise the fact that your getting hd for free and its the onlu way of getting it. I can imagine that as time moves on it'll change

What do channel names have to do with Dogs? Is it an acronym or something?

The TV logo displayed on screen - Digital On-screen Graphic (i think).

@ GBCULLEN , I agree completely I'm not a fan of DOG's , why RTE2 requires two logo's is beyond me. Thank god we don't have the Saorview logo on the bottom of the screen like we had earlier in the year. Hopefully RTE will listen and at least adopt the approach BBC HD have taken.

Contact the information office aswell. They submit a weekly circular to relevant departments of any comments or complaints that they receive during the week.
