You might meet a girl or bloke who are nice, but their partner could be a control freak or a violent person, and you ask why do they stay with them?

They might change, nobody better out there, no money, no family or friends, zero self confidence, how long is a piece of string really.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

    Okay, here's the deal folks.

Any chick who ends up with a bollix of a fella has had either.

    1. Absent Dad

    2. Arsehole Dad

It makes sense when you think about it.

RRRRRRRRRAAAAAR! its like the dominant lion. He will protect their young as long as they are his, otherwise he will eat them but the pride will still be intact and he will mate with the lionesses friends and the lionesses fight amongst themselves for the dominant lion. Little do they know that they are really in the tiger world. Where the male mates with the female and then fecks off into the wild whilst the female raises the young alone.

The problem with society now is that whilst in the Tiger world the mother raises their young to hunt and survive. In the human world the mother raises their young to feed off the game keepers.

In my experiance it's usually true.

The opposite applies to fellas who wind up with total bitches.

Your relationship with your opposite sex parent can't be underestimated.

dunno to be honest i just think some women are attracted to w*nkers. why (if youve had an abusive father) would you want to go out with an abusive boyfriend? surely youd run the other way

Well, if you know anybody going out with or married to a psycho, just look at their relationship or lack of it with their opposite sex parent.

People like the things that they're used to, rightly or wrongly.

    See if I'm right.

I had a friend who went out with a psycho lad once.

I gave her some good advice and told her to run, run, run, run, run, run away. A hey hey heeey ayah yah yah.

Cos they would rather be with someone that could possibly strangle them to death in their sleep than admit to their friends that they are single.

I done it for long enough myself sort of "hoping things were going to improve" but in the end my head was so wrecked even the shags stopped being enjoyable. In the end split up and just couldn't imagine ever having the mental strength left to put up with such a person again

Because they, themselves, have psychological problems commensurate with staying with that particular person.
    That's the simple, self-evident, answer.

some people will stay with anyone just to be in a relationship and will end up getting married to the psycho.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,028 ✭✭✭✭--LOS--

...because you don't see it creeping in, especially in a long relationship, you accept one little thing, you accept more and more, it then becomes impossible to leave because of danger to yourself/them/others. Its not as straightforward as walk away, cut contact etc, psychos are persistent ****ers. I really dont believe many would stay with them just to be in a relationship, maybe that is how it appears to people on the outside as they really have no idea whats going on.

Low self-esteem and fear of being on their own.
