Fancy a cucumber? Watch out for the E-Coli

Got an e-mail of a slightly hypochondriac aunt this morning advising most of my extended family to avoid Cucumbers originating from Spain, apparently there was a batch contaminated at a large Distributor in Adalucia somwehere and they were shipped to the continent and possibly the UK.

It doesn't look like, and I doubt that, there were any shipped here, but apparently there have been deaths and kidney failures etc in the affected areas and there's always the possibility. Caveat emptor and all that.

It is actually a big thing over here at the moment, 14 dead in Germany and 1 in Sweden (but she got infected in Germany).

It's a mutation of the E-Coli and is resistant to antibiotics, officials are still trying to find the source of the virus
