    Considering buying a 2007-2008 Honda Accord -

Has anyone any experience with these car? reliable? expensive to maintain?

I am possibly going to get a 2.0 litre petrol - Good idea?

Any advice on this car would be appreciated?

    Cheers

    Sam

looking at one for the future also, but I am being bold and want a 2.4 type S...:D

IMO they are bomb proof, once they have a service, them accords go on and on and on..

    and thats just a 90s model.. :)

the new gen are more refined and have all the toys and as good a build quality as any BMW.

Well I had an 02 model 1.8 followed by 1.8 Civic and now have that model Accord in diesel. All bulletproof and probably a good indicator. The only gripes are that I find the clutch pedal a bit offset or too close to the dead pedal and I find the steering a bit 'numb'. I'm sure the petrol is ultra reliable though. My brother has one and I think he gets ca. 35 mpg. Probably should add that I also had a 91 Civic followed by a 97 Civic before I got the 02 Accord so maybe I'm biased!

NA honda petrols are about as bulletproof as you can get engine wise. Think there might have been some issues with the VSA module on some of the Accords but I could be wrong on that.

I have an 05 2.0i Sport model, for the past 3 years / 65,000km (ish).

It's been serviced, I've replaced a few bulbs, an I had to replace the original battery last month. Nothing else has gone wrong wiht it at all.

It's not the most fuel effecient car, nor the most exciting to drive, but it's not the worst either.

True - that's why it's done 65,000km in 3 years, but I do 40,000km per year. It's done less than 2,000km since January :pac:

Was looking at Audi A4s but tbh i dont fancy paying all the extra for a 07 when i could get an accord for less...

Nice to see there are no negative reviews...

anything I should look out for when viewing these things?

I have a 06 Type S Accord myself, now my clutch did go but I wouldnt let that put you off its very rare for the them to go in the petrol model. They are a bit thirsty on the petrol but well worth it, I love it, it was the car I wanted for years if I was to change car tommorrow id buy another Accord.

Very nice place to sit whilst driving.

+1 on that itd be my only gripe to, im constantly rubbin my foot of the dead pedal.

Nice car alright but like a lot of petrol Hondas (tho not all) it's heavy enough on the juice.
