    Hi all,

I am putting together an article about Creative Writing (writing in general) and am wondering if any of you have any thoughts, good, bad or indifferent about this topic?

If you wouldnt mind giving your opinion to some/all of the following questions?

1: As someone interested in writing or other forms of creative expression, how would you personally define 'Creative Writing'?

2: Have you ever taken a 'Creative Writing course/class(es)'?

3: If so, did it meet whatever expectations you had at the outset?

    (a) Were you seeking a more basic/foundation course dealing with the 'nuts & bolts' of the writing craft- with maybe some social/peer interaction and mutual motivation thrown in?

    (b) Did you have in mind joining a more serious/formal-minded grouping with a view to getting forthright feedback on whatever work you submitted - the ultimate objective being to further your activity towards entering competitions &/or getting published as a serious new author/poet/dramatist/screenwriter?

    (c) Did you experience fall between these two extremes?

4: Briefly (without naming names), how did you find the standard of the classes - and the instructor/facilitator?

5:Would you recommend this route to other would-be aspring (amateur/professional) writers/creative artists?

6: Did you ever receive visits from figures in the arts world while you were participating in your writing course/group/club?

7: If so, from whom, and how did you find this? Did it provide inspiration/motivation? Was the illustrious visitor engaging and supportive of your communal efforts?

8: What motivates and keeps you focused on writing, especially in this climate when times are tough (for people personally and economically in creative/publishing sector)?

    Sorry for the long-windedness.

    Any feedback appreciated:)
