As some of you know i sold my e46 m3 at the start of the year, basically due to the fact it was a garage queen, a depreciating one at that with 1,600 road tax.

Mrs Cyrus and I decided to become a one car family. She had a diesel alfa gt, which was a nice car but not really my cup of tea. A plan was hatched to change it to something that was mutually acceptable. ive been looking for quite some time, and missed out on a few before this, but im happy with how its ended up.

We picked up our new car on saturday.

2007 e92 325i se in sparking graphite with m sport beige leather seats and the sport aero kit 42,000 miles, premium selection car so 2 year manufacturer warranty.

Decent spec with the aero kit, seats, 18" wheels, heated seats, bluetooth phone etc.

Only issue is the mrs is driving it every day, which doesnt suit the overly fussy side of my character but i need to relax on that now we are sharing a car.

Proper pics to follow later, german plates, detail and exhaust trim covers are the only mods planned!

Nah, just kidding :pac: Looks like a great car, and I'm sure you'll be able to wrangle it away from her often enough to enjoy it.

Lol i know, there was no control over me before, now that we are sharing a car and the mrs needs it to commute to work i may have to curtail my activity in that regard,

im hoping to post in this thread in 12 months time proudly declaring that we still have it

ah its a different beast, its comfier, being an auto much more relaxing drive, and its nice that its a newer model,

that said its pretty far away from an m3 at full chat :)

its a lot closer than a diesel alfa tho :D

basically its a nice comfy cruiser

Lovely car. Congrats. Have been looking at something similar myself. Whats the road tax on the 325i?

i think its €935, basically the insurance and tax on the 325i, is less than the tax alone on the m3, and obviously we no longer have a second car to insure and tax aswell

That's cool man, I can understand the appreciation of the comfier ride reciently went for a test drive in a lexus GS450h - very comfey + lots of torque was seriously considering it untill I found out that they still get no tax breaks before 08 (nearly 1k more expensive from 07-08 on tax), and those were out of my budget. Best of luck with it mate, let us know how your getting on with it in a few months :D.

I can't wait for the thread in a few months where you'll be in a position to justify a weekend toy to Mrs. Cyrus!!! A nice classic with low tax and insurance, maybe. :D
