Has anyone used this site to buy dresses? I am looking for a nice corset evening gown for a function soon and noticed this site has lots of good deals. Iv only ever bought dresses online on dresses.ie which is less risky as it is local. Plus an evening gown needs better fit.

    If so:

Did your dress come safely packed?

Was it as as described/pictured online?

    Would you use again?

Hi. I never heard of this site so Googled it and a load of links came up about scams. I really have no idea and can't give a review but maybe it's not the wisest choice?

Really!! Thanks. I was almost conned so. Thank you. Any idea's for a good deal on a nice dress. Kind of bridesmaidish but not as weddingy if you get me? A corset style in mind.

You're asking the wrong girl I'm afraid. I'm at a loss too. I have a wedding to go to in a month and am tearing my hair out looking for a guna! Debenhams did have some fab dresses, though not many corset-y types from what I remember. Best of luck with the hunt, I hope it goes better than mine is. :D

I think that Light In The Box is kind of like EBay in that it depends on who you buy from. I've heard of people getting great dresses from them and I've heard some horror stories.

There are some posts in the Weddings Forum on this site. Basically they usually post a picture of a real designers dress and make you a cheaper copy of it - it really depends on your expectations.

DHgate is a similar site- one of the girls in the Wedding Forum got her wedding dress from there recently and it was beautiful but like the poster above said its all different sellers so you need to do a bit of research.

I got a dress from lightinthebox. I wouldn't necessarily recommend them though.

The zip was a bit delicate and the sizing was completely off. For example, the bust was about 5 inches smaller than the measurement I gave. They were very happy to offer a refund of 50% of the dress price for alterations, but when it came to get the money it was a bit like getting blood out of a stone. It took over a month and 10+ e-mails back and forth.

Overall, I did like the dress. The colour and style were really nice and exactly as pictured. I can't quite remember what the packaging was like, but I'm pretty sure it was just folded in a plastic bag.

I'm not sure that I would order from them again, not unless I really loved the dress. However, I will defend them and say they are not a complete con site so don't be hasty ruling it out just yet.

litb are like dealextreme or focal price. Stuff is cheap and the shop is grand and legit. But slow as hell to ship and the quality of the goods is not always spectacular.

Great things to be bought from china too though. Worth a punt but keep expectations realistic re; product quality
