Not at present. They should make an appearance at some stage in the future, although possibly only in cabled areas.

He means your thread title makes it sound like you are saying that the saorview channels HAVE been added to UPC, rather then a question.

I've edited the thread title to make it clearer.

I notice UPC already have an RTEjr/TRTE channel. I wonder if they'll drop this and replace it with the RTEjr channel only. I hope not. RTEjr loops the RTEjr strand up until 7pm, so it would have different content to TRTE. And then it would be confusing having an EPG with RTE Two, RTEjr and RTEjr/TRTE when they all are showing the same morning block of content.

Is the RTÉ jr on Saorview now showing different content to what's on RTÉ Two? Another thread says it is. The RTÉ jr on UPC is pointless as it only simulcasts what is on RTÉ Two .

It's meant to show the same content as RTE Two during the morning, except for ads. It's the RTE Jr block. When RTE Two turns into TRTE, RTE Jr is meant to turn into rerun mode, repeating that morning block over and over until RTE One+1 takes over with more repeats from 7pm.

Yes. It is a channel aimed at toddlers. They wont care if they are seeing a repeat. There is a good chance that they wont be watching it from 7am - 7pm anyway. I will agree about RTÉ One +1 being a waste.

RTE wanted to have a RTÉ plus channel which would have shown more of their imported shows at prime time but TV3 objected.

Tv3 object to everything, the sooner the're gone the better.

Timeshifts are absolute crap. Unless they either switched it to +1 day, or to a time shuffle I'll never watch it

I wouldn't agree. I find them invaluable sometimes. I came across the end of a programme on Discovery recently (its last showing) and I was able to record it on the +1 channel.

Okay, if ye want to discuss the merits and demerits of specific RTÉ programming, take it to Broadcasting or Television.
