    Hi,
Im hoping someone can recommend a hotel in Ireland, that is reasonably priced (some I have looked at 900 - 1500e ) but fabulous for a couple taking a honeymoon weekend. It will be 2 or 3 nights June weekend and within reasonable driving distance from Cork. Just somewhere they can have a little pampering as they cannot go on a proper honeymoon until the summer.

    Thanks is advance!

It looks live fab. Husband's from Kilkenny so I will never get to stay over, it's also close to Cork.

Depends on what you're looking for, but what about somewhere out of the way? Killarney is only an hour from Cork (depending on where in the county you are), but the June weekend is going to be jammers there. And killarney is a big wedding spot so lots of the hotels will be hosting weddings - which you might want to avoid when you're gone past that!

Head to Dingle or Cahirciveen, Dingle will be busy but you can stay in the skellig hotel, head out early in the evening for a fab dinner and observe the craic in the pubs early evening. Same with Cahirciveen , get there early, maybe stay in Portmagee or Valentia, have a few pints with the locals and realx in the surroundings! No better place!

The Lyrath is great. I've stayed there 3 times & love it. The food in the Thai restaurant is amazing. The spa is good too, it's small but it's nice.
All the rooms are nice but if they can afford it I'd recommend the Executive room or one of the suites.

The comedy festival is on that weekend as well. Even if they don't go to any shows, they'll be a good buzz around the place.

Lyrath is lovely, but the time I was there it was swarming with fairly young kids. Not ideal for a honeymoon, imo.

Shouldn't be a problem as they'll probably stay in the room for most of the time :)

It is fairly popular alright for communions/conformations/weddings etc.....

    Did you try Castlemartyr resort.

Or how about Dromoland Castle ( should be worth the drive!)

Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore is fabulous. Dromoland is gorgeous too. Have stayed in both, but Cliff House just shades is because of the lovely view from your room.

This is my 3rd post today for the Monart and I swear I dont have any connection, except that I loved the place and can't wait to go back. I'm a fairly seasoned traveller, to would be used to staying in some nice hotels and this is definitely the best spa hotel in Ireland (in my humble opinion!).

The Monart is near Enniscorthy. It is only an adults only spa hotel, so you wont find yourself in among a wedding party or a load of kids.

Mrs JT and myself had a wonderful stay there. Facilities are great. Had a hot stone massage and then off to a darkened room to relax afterwards. Just loved walking around in our dressing gowns all day and only getting dressed for dinner. Food is wonderful. They left us little gifts on the bed each evening.

I spent a lovely romantic weekend away with the boyfriend in the Imperial Hotel in Cork - was fabulous! The room was fantastic, the service was great and the food was lovely. We stayed in one of the 'Executive' rooms, which came with a hot tub for a bath - perfect for a nice couple-y weekend! I don't know if they're still doing the same promotion now, but we got 2 nights with free breakfasts and a free evening meal in the Pembroke restaurant (absolutely gorgeous food). Here's the hotel's website anywho: http://www.flynnhotels.com/Imperial_Hotel_Cork
There's also a spa in the hotel and free off-street parking (bit of a walk though). Didn't use the spa but I've heard good things. The hotel is central in Cork city so it's easy to get to all the nice sights in the city centre :)
