    Hi all,

I am in a bit of a panic here,

Can anyone tell me where the set down / boarding point is for the 109 at blanchardstown. I am starting a new job in blanchardstown sc and want to work out how to get from the stop / boarding point to the shopping centre.

    Thanks all.

    see the google map
Red point is the drop off point for Blanchardstown SC. it basically at the bottom of the slip road. walk up the slip road, turn right and turn right. then accross over the bridge. stright up that road up to the traffic light and cross the road and you are in the shopping centre beside 53 degree north shop. You can walk through the crown plaza for shorter journey but crossing in a busy road.

green point is the pick up point for 109 bus. You have to walk through the villiage to get there then the river rd for short cut to the bus stop.

    Cheers a million buddy,

Can you set down there too? That way I could just hop UrBus up the road and not have to walk up the off ramp?

Nope there is no bus stop on that side of the dual carriageway. The next bus stop is just after the TravelLodge at Castleknock.

Bear in mind that a new timetable comes into effect on the 109 from Sunday...

    indeed,
    which states about the stop
    Blanchardstown bus stops:

Northbound: Bus stop is on the
sliproad from the R121 onto the N3.

Southbound: bus stop is the Dublin
Bus stop on the R121beside the
    R121/N3 interchange.
which sounds to me a different and safer situation than currently.

Where abouts is that stop so? I would be interested as usually my mother gets the bus to Cavan town from opposite The Halfway House but with the 109 to Cavan now going from the airport that is not an option (unless she wants to get the bus to Kells and hang around for a bus to Cavan or else go all the way into Busarus).

If she could get the 39 to the BE stop in Blanch and then meet the 109 coming from the airport and then coming home do the same (as the current drop off point in Blanch is in a dangerous spot) it would be great.

The 109 via dublin airport is a joke so far, the bus is no quicker with traffic around the airport plus only certain times pick up at the matter and phibsboro, also note that if your going to cavan from dunshaughlin or navan it means you have to take the bus to kells and wait for the connecting cavan bus which never comes on time.

The new set-down bus stop for Blanchardstown is a Dublin Bus stop just up the slip road - so a saving of a minute's walk or so if heading to the shopping centre.

For the return it's on the slip road down to the N3. There's just a bay and road markings denoting a bus stop. Although there's a steady stream of traffic I don't know whether it would be the safest of places (from a personal security perspective) for someone to wait on their own late-evening for instance.

(If you imagine you've just got off the bus and have walked across the bridge towards the shopping centre - well immediately after crossing the bridge the slip road is on your right and the stop a minute's walk if that down the slip road). (There's a footpath.)

The new stop for Blanchardstown is about 5 mins walk from the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. Out green entrance and follow footpath round Crowne Plaza. At the roundabout go down the slip road – the one vehicles follow which are going north on the N3. The stop is there and has clear road markings (but no pole or shelter when I used it a few weeks ago). Footpaths all the way.
(Hope that explains it as it’s a tricky one to explain - let me know if it doesn't and I'll try to map it)

The established stop Blanchardstown Roundabout also remains (outbound buses only). Just walk down River Rd from the Main Street and turn left. This stop has a shelter.
I think the Quinn building is closer to the stop near the Blanch centre.
