Overnight Parking in Cork City

Does anybody have any idea of somewhere cheap (preferably free) to park overnight. My friend be travelling early on Saturday and staying until Sunday lunchtime.

I don't want to spend a fortune on parking tickets (every 2 hours is ridiculous).
An overnight car park or street with free parking would be ideal. I live in Cork near UCC, but really anywhere will do.

    Thank you in advance

Sorry that this reply is probably too late for you but might be handy in future. Q-Park do overnight parking in 4 car parks in Cork for 3.50. That covers you from 4pm until 9am the following day. It is safe and secure and not a bad price. Tehir website is www.q-park.ie. Youhave to pre-book it to get that price

If somewhere has a two hour parking limit, you are meant to leave after the two hours to allow someone else use what is a prime spot. It isn't meant for long term parking.

EVERYWHERE in Cork City has a 2 hour "limit" in so far as that's the most a single disk can take - they use 1970s style scratchcard discs

I think you can scratch off a load in series and put them all on the dash, at least I've got away with that before.

edit: bye laws say only one disc at once actually, and no return within an hour: http://www.corkcity.ie/services/roadstransportation/trafficdivision/parkingbyelaws/filedownload,2224,en.pdf
They have this policy even in areas where parking spaces couldn't be claimed to be "prime" by any stretch.

I've either just been lucky or the wardens realise this is over-zealous.

Yeah, but the civil servants don't always get it right, do they!
