Living Situation

I’m renting a room from a friend who owns her house and lately I think we’ve just gotten sick of each other – we’ve been living together over 3 years so it’s probably only natural. Anyway I want to move out over the summer but for some reason I’m finding difficult to pluck up the courage to tell her as I don’t want to ruin our friendship and I know she’ll probably struggle a bit with the mortgage.
The other issue is that my boyfriend says that he would be happy for us to move in together which I would love but the problem is I just don’t believe he will ever act on it. He still lives at home and I know he has it fairly sweet there! It would involve me moving to his home town which is fine with me as the location would be ok for both of us work wise but I just feel as I would be moving to his town he should at least take the initiative and say ‘hey will we go look at some places today’? I feel like I’m nagging when I bring it up. I’d be happy just to rent a room in a house share myself but I’m afraid he’s going interpret that as some sort of statement when really I just need to move out of my current place for my own sanity!
Basically I would love him to show some initiative but I know he never will so I don’t want it turn into some big fight if I go and sort myself out!
    Sorry I know I’m rambling a bit!

The fact that your bf ''would be happy to'' move in with you dosent sound like a very strong commitment on his part. Talk to him again about it and how you are planning to move out of your current place very shortly. Ask him if he is serious about getting a place and if he is that you both should go looking at places asap. However if he starts dragging his feet and being hesitant you may have to knock the idea on the head, for now at least.

Probably would be best to move out anyway, if the current situation is bothering you. I shared with a friend before, we didnt get on and I moved out but we still remained buddies. Just tell her you think its time you moved on but you want to stay friends.

Go and move out to a house share with people you don't know. When you find somewhere, give your housemate sufficient notice (a month) so that she can find somewhere else. Your boyfriend doesn't sound like he's jumping through hoops to move in together so go and sort yourself out for now and then if the time is right for you both to move in together you can go and look at leisure. Right now it sounds like you need to get out of where you are so I wouldn't be waiting around on your boyfriend to suggest moving in tbh.
