    Hi,

    I am in college at the moment, but I have become bored and disillusioned with the educational process as it appears to me. I have a great interest in learning, but my university experiences have not tallied with expectations on this front. People are more concerned with their status, social lives and future careers than advancing themselves and genuinely learning, and I think the workplace at the end of of my chosen path would ultimately be little different.

    I have lost interest in the social conventions and perspectives of my friends and those around me, and I feel as if I am stagnating here. I want to leave Ireland for somewhere else (not UK or USA, possibly Paris or somewhere else in France) and see life from another angle, as well as develop myself as a person without the constraints and expectations which weigh so heavily here. I am unconcerned with living in relative poverty or working at menial jobs if it is the price of moving, as I am sure it will be. I see in the people around me now the seeds of the same bored, mundane and safe existences of the dissatisfied adults I have all too often encountered in my life, and I think that taking a risk like this is better than going down the same well trodden and uneventful path.

    The problem is I have very little money. My question, ultimately, is this: how difficult is a solo move to another country, such as France, without much money and no qualifications? Does anybody have any similar experiences? Any advice or thoughts would be most welcome. Thanks.
