I am hoping to go to uni in Melbourne next year to do the paramedic course.

As regards with preparation what would be the best things to do(e.g. volunteer) and read?

Victoria university, Monash university and some others around the country all offer the paramedic degree. most programs in oz are 3 years full time and require a good pass in high school or a post high school qualification. you will have to fork out a large amount of school fees because you will be classed as an international student

In regards to the course itself, study your anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology etc. this would be a good start. depending on what uni you want to go to. go to thier websites, check out the courses and look at the subjects taught, these will give a brief overview on what is covered in the subjects.
