Anyone else replace their cigarette habit with Nicotine gum addiction instead?

Sometimes it feels like I'll have to start smoking again to kick my gum habit!

I'm not sure what the health consequences are either of prolonged (6+ years) use

Anyone have any thought on this?

6+ years? The addiction is to nicotine not gum and 6 years is not healthy.

You need to see your doctor.

That's my thinking - chewing the gum must be alot healthier than 6 years worth of smoking.

Has anyone else been in this position & if so,how did you get off the gum?

it had to be better than smoking but it still not good for you

i quit smoking year and half ago by using niquitin lozengers,
But im still using them now, i think i've swapped one additction for
another. Would be interested to hear from other people on this too?

    i did twice
first time i was off ciggies for 4 years , after using gum for three months to break habit , gradually weaning off gum

second time - i went back to ciggies after a hard period , for a year
then went on gum, and was on gum for 8 years ,the 2mg one .

i suffered stomach / gut issues and mental fogginess, high blood pressure
, always uptight , aggression , hearing problems , two root canals , crumbling teeth .

didnt even consider it was the gum - but it was .
how stupid i was to think it was not as bad as ciggies.
it is marketed as safe , but it is far from safe.

do a search, youll find the gum is just as bad in its own way - the problem in the end is the actual nicotine - its a lethal poison.
its affect on blood vessel constriction and possible cancer acceleration issues are scary .
many people are addicted to gum now , and suffering serious health issues along with it

use it to quit cigarettes , then always quit the gum as well.

i will always miss ciggies , they are really nice !

but fcuking with your health is insane - its all you have .
