    Hello,

Last Wed 18th my 2 year old toddler became ill so my wife and I decided to bring him to A&E (CUH Cork) on the advice of our family doctor. He deteriorated during the trip as we hit rush hour traffic on the airport hill . :(

There were some Gardai working on the side of the road preparing for the Queens visit. I stopped and asked them if I could use the hard shoulder and bus lane to get to A&E asap... they saw my 2 year old and radioed a near-by Paddy Wagon; who in turn escorted us through the traffic to the door of the A&E. I left my car with the Gardai and we ran with my son into the hospital. The lads in the paddy wagon parked our car and followed us in with the keys later. Unbelievable I have to say... I thanked them at the time so much... they were brilliant, no other word!

Out of interest is there any way to figure out where the Gardai are from or what station? I’d like to just drop in a few small gifts as a token measure to say thank you so much for getting the small lad to the hospital so quickly.

    Cheers,
    Cathal

Airport Hill would be covered by Togher station, but given who was coming, the guys could have been Anglesea street based. Call to Togher should clear up which station the guys are based in

Most likely from Togher, they cover the the airport and airport hill.

Contact the Sgt in charge of the station.

    Togher
    Cork City
    Co. Cork

    Tel: +353 21 494 7120

    Hope your kid is ok.

Thanks for the reply lads. I work close by to that station so I'll pop in at lunch time tomorrow and ask.

The small lad is home from hospital now and on the mend. It was a scary few days to be honest... he'll be fine again in a few weeks.

    Thanks again...
