I'm replacing my flywheel this week. Wondering what impact will be using a solid flywheel. Will it be noisier, will it really last longer, will effect performance etc....... It's an older engine. A TDDi 115PS, chweing starting motors and making a little noise from the now disintegrating flywheel. Opinions please.

From what i've read it will be a fair bir noiser and might be a bit stiffer on the clutch but not much. Will last longer for sure, a good few people have done this and post on the mondeo uk forums and it seems like there wasn't much of a problem. Are you buying one of the ebay kits? I'd be interested to find out how you get on as i'll probably do it when my dmf goes

Haven't looked at ebay (Yet). Getting it done through a garage like. Got a couple of quotes. Might chance the solid flywheel. Can't see meself replacing another DMF in another 150,000.
