We had someone call to the door last night trying to sell us Phonewatch. She claimed that by law, all alarm systems had to be checked by an engineer twice a year. Is this true or was she just lying through her teeth?

Monitored alarms need to be services twice a year.
Standalone system installed to EN50131 need 1 service to keep the system up to this standard.
Old systems not up to any standard dont need any but it is always best to get them checked over rather than have a burglar do it for you :D
