ya have dived in the phillippines

stayed in sabang next to peurto galera and dived with big apple divers in sabang, did bout 6 dives there not bad at all not the best diving i've ever done, big apple were good new gear, all the diving is outta of long boats not the big boats like thailand.

bout $20 a dive and $1 a beer, plenty bars in sabang has a sleaxy name but its nothing like thailand, its sort of like ka tao in thailand, lot less popular mainly divers head there. not many gap yr backpacker there. easy to get to from manilla get a bus bout 8a, from manilla to bantagas and from there a 1hr ferry all up be bout $20 and you be there by bout 1pm.

stay at steps and garden resort, nices place in town, if you stay there hire a motorbike and head over to to the italina restruant on the beach past white beach aboluslty unreal, anyone will tell you where it is.

also dived in boracay diving in boracay is grand as well but nothing spectular

again the diving is cheap local guys carry all the gear and wash it all makes ya lazy!!!

didnt make it to palawan and malaupsa island where the best diving is,

overall phillippines is class cheap and not too many tourist pretty undiscovered compared to thailand, food is terrible tho just plain and bland.

sorry bout spelling mistakes in a rushed typed quickly
wouldnt go tpo phillippines june to dec typoon season

Did the same as previous poster. Puerto Gilera is much better than Borocay (which was a huge disappointment). Saw some sharks in Puerto Gilera. Did Big Apple aswell. Instructors not very enthusiastic etc Friends have gone to Palawan and recommend it for diving, not the safest though (tourist kidnappings). If you have an option I would go somewhere else rather than Philippines. Not a great holiday destination

Dived around Philipinnes twice - Cebu, Porto Gallera and Boracay. Missed out on Mallapasucua (North of Cebu) which I hear is fantastic for trasher sharks).
PG was the best diving of the lot

Damn it. I was diving in Cebu + Boracay, but missed PG.
I did learn to dive in Cebu, turtles during *confined* water - I was very spoilt.

    Hi
I went diving in Palawan, Coron island. Did two dives, one in a lake which was salt water. Not much life to see there though. Lots of varying temperatures in the water, and could see the therma line (if thats what its called). There are about 4 wrecks to dive near Coron, but I didn't have the chance. Preferred diving in Thailand. Good luck.
