At the very least, you'll need a Felling Licence of some sort:
    http://www.agriculture.gov.ie/forestservice/treefelling/treefelling/

I'd strongly suggest you get advice 'on the ground' from a competent person, both for the logistics of finding potential customers and ensuring that you're not ripped off on the deal, and to also steer you through the legal and bureaucratic steps to do this properly.
Teagasc have forestry advisors, and there are plenty of freelance foresters and commercial forestry companies out there too.

As a side note, at 80 years of age, your conifers may be too big for some potential customers. Out of general nosiness, what species are they (I'd suspect Sitka) and approximately what sort of girth (diameter at 'breast height' (DBH) - 4.5 feet (1.37m) above the forest floor on the uphill side of the tree) have they got?

Make sure the trees in question are less than 100 feet from a house to be safe re felling licence, and if they are you don't want an eejet felling them for you or bye bye house!;)
