    Hi Laura

I have been in the algarve a few times and I think Albuferia is the best really. It is good for adults and kids as the beach is good and you have the strip with the bars, shops and so on the a short train ride away is the old town bit more middle age and more classy but more expensive. Also it is a good base if you want to do some trips. I was only there a few weeks ago and stayed in a fab place called Forte do Vale but there is great choice.

Looks good, did you book it directly or go through an agency? Would you recomment it for kids (5 & 3).

    Thanks,

    OP sorry for hyjacking.

    Hi,

It was quiter when we were there but i think it would be good for kids. the only thing is the pool is freezing but thats the same in them all. The rooms are really big you could live in the apts and so plenty of room for you and kids and good and secure.

we booked ourselves and got a transfer for 2 for €36 there are loads of companies to choose from. The beach is 10 mins away down hill, a little of a struggle maybe with kids going back up but not too bad once you do not go down to the beach beside the strip which they call heart attack hill. The strip can be full of stags and so on late at night but never any trouble and plus if you get a family ticket on the little train you can go up and down to the old town as many time as you like if you get the all day one which will save on taxi's.

Hope this helps, enjoy if you go.

    Fergie
