You must be making too much noise, I shot several Maggers over a dead bunny

you need cammo to the hilt, including hands and face! Maybe a loaf of bread? im not sure if you can but seeing as your using a rabbit its the same thing.

I find walking to where their flighting threw and standing there until one comes, i have decoys but prefer this method of laying in wait. Magpies are a different kettle, you walk into a field and there gone:mad: someone was saying rattling match sticks in the box works?

I mostly trap birds now but for greycrows:

Get a decent call and learn how to use it right. I've recently got a Nordik crow, not had the time to use it yet mind.

White bread, opened fox, something like that will do as bait.

A couple of greycrow decoys might help.

Scrim net for the rifle, got off Ebay. Elastic bands to hold it on.

Gloves, camo hat with face veil, either other camo clothing or earthy colours. Hide yourself in shade if there's no good cover available.

    STAY STILL.

    Patience young glasshopper.

Best time of day is early in the morning, or later in the evening I have found. Middle of the day seems to be crow siesta time here anyway.

If you find a good spot, good cover, good fields of fire, good backstop etc. Don't abuse it. Or they'll twig and you can say goodbye to that spot.

Magpies have the particularly pleasing habit of jumping on top of dead grey crows. Shot plenty bonus maggies that way.

I am having great success with these traps, I have a magpie as a calling bird and i put eggs in the trap compartments, 21 greys in a month out of 2 traps, the farmer is delighted and i am well on my way to winning the vermin comp in my club this year. :D

Decoys you need.... 4 is plenty and a dead rabbit....

Have the decoys facing into the wind and looking at the rabbit...

And a good cammo net and cover your whole body and dont move..

    Good luck..its great craic..

Patience is the problem (I know for me it is any way ADHD)
10 mins waiting still feels like 10 hours

Nice work - the local Game Conservany here has employed half a dozen of these since March on the edge of the lake. A staggering 200 hoodies have been accounted for since:cool::D
