Ah its just for a mate of mine he is wondering for cheaper insurance in things i think his brother is already a member he reckons so he could possiably get for €30 per year

you dont have to be a farmer to join ifa. i'm with them a few years now and im down as hunting on the policy. it's 70 euro a year and for a family member to join to only 30 euro not bad:D

There is a small difference between IFA and IFA countryside.
Membership of IFA is levied at €55 + 65c/farmed acre with a minimum subscription of €75.
If you get the following benefits http://www.ifa.ie/Membership/MemberSavings.aspx
Membership of IFA Countryside is levied at Individual Membership: €70 per annum
Additional Family Members: €30 per annum for each
Group Membership: €60 per annum per person
You get similar benefits http://www.ifacountryside.ie/Membership/Benefits/tabid/178/language/en-US/Default.aspx

IFA don't insure anyone or anything.

It's actually FBD who underwrite all their Policy's

FBD farm insurance also covers sport so I would guess so. My fathers policy covers him to shoot.

However you would want to ask FBD about that yerself for a specific answer to you

But you're the one who brought FBD into this thread

And afaik it would only cover him on his own land/s. We had this discussion a few times with some landowners in my gun clubs. They all have/wanted NARGC insurance.

OH, Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeep Breaths. FBD are Insurance. IFA are a representative group who are tied in with Vodafone,FBD and Eircom...........

Ring FBD tomorrow and ask them Bunny, since you want to know what they charge and will they insure you for SPORTS insurance. I don't need to know

I'm covered by FBD twice as my fathers children/employees are also covered under farm insurance.

Can I throw a spanner in the works here and say the Nargc is not an insurance it is a compensation fund.

I often wonder bunny why you are so argumentative on here and barely speak to me in real life

I should not have said that FBD underwrite Insurance Policies for IFA/IFA Countryside members.

I should not have told you that I am covered by my Fathers Policy as I work (unpaid) for him.

I should never have said that as it is no benefit to teh world to tell them if they are wondering is IFA Countryside Insurance any good; that not to wory as it's FBD that they would deal with if they had an accident.

And what ever you do, do not get the IFA Discount on your vodafone phone bill as nobody wants to save €500 a year on phone bills :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Met the president of the IFA in Brussels and he told me that they were keen to get Sportsmen (fishing/shooting etc.) on board with the orgainisation... They have compensation insurance aswell

The IFA countryside are looking into tailor made insurance to suit your needs atm, so if you feel you need greater cover for certain aspects they are talking about being able to facilitate you on it.
