Ok folks, so the question is to install habitation Air Con or not?

Some 'facts' to add to the equation... We would expect to go to France (south of) each year for 3-4 weeks. All going well, we also expect to hold the camper at least ten years. Yes I know that is a long time and the kids will get bigger etc but right now that is our best guess. We put a lot of time into thinking about our camper and were are confident that we have chosen well

    Your thoughts/experiences please.

During a heatwave in France a few years ago it got to high 30's and I would have paid any money for air conditioning. Since then I haven't experienced the same temperatures over there. If you plan to keep the MH and you have the cash then I'd say go for it.
I've considered a portable 12000btu unit that consumes about 1kwh but the only problem is finding the extra storage space for it. There's a cool looking one on ebay at the moment for around £400 + p&p which night be worth looking at, Cools 2,400BTUs and consumes about 350watts.
If I had the cash however I'd install the proper one.

I need to do more research on them - at present I have just looked at the Domestic range as these seem to be one of the most popular.

the only problem i have with the Roof mounted ones , is that they're effin noisy! I used to fit loads.

Hmmm, don't like the sound of that (if you'll pardon the pun). Any such thing as a quiet one? Or at least an acceptable level of noise.
