Track rod ends

    Track rod end seem to be a serious defect on most new cars these days or is it the irish roads... 2 sets on 06 bmw and 1 set on lr disco 3

    Or quite possibly the manufacturer. In the 23 years of driving Nissan's in my family, we've never had to do track rod ends.

    Most of them were bought new and ran up to almost 100K miles. One ran to 160K miles, and some of them had rather hard lives, setting out Forest Rally stages, Night Navigation Trial routes and general hooning down private tracks (can't call them roads, they were too bad!)

    Its a european car problem tbh.

    Bmw's are very prone to it, newer opels and renaults suffer constant innter tie rod problems.

    I used to own a peugot 206 diesel, had it for just over a year and both the track rod ends had to be replaced twice, have an Almera now and no problems atall!
