The Triumph Classic Owners Club (TCOC) are celebrating the club’s 25th anniversary with a fundraising car rally covering the four provinces of Ireland to raise much needed funds for The Children's Sunshine Home/LauraLynn House.

Childrens' Sunshine Home provides home support, respite and end-of-life care to over 72 children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Due for completeion early next year, LauraLynn house will be Ireland's only children's hospice and will alleviate some of the pain and suffering for Irish families. There are over 1400 children with life-limiting conditions and over 300 child deaths each year

The rally is entitled '4 Provinces in a Classic' and will run from the 16th-19th of September. It will comprise of 40 cars and 62 participants with support vehicles. It will commence from Leopardstown at 10am on friday 16th September and will visit Clonmel (Fri. 12.30-2.30), Cobh (overnight), Ennis, Galway (a mini 'car show' in Eyre Square, Sat. 3.30-6.30 and an overnight), Castlebar (Sun. 12.30-2.30), Ballyshannon (overnight), Enniskillen, Strabane, Omagh and Monaghan (Mon 12.30-2.30) and of course we will pass through all the towns and villages en route

The accomodation is full at the venues we are staying at but we are hoping as many of you out there will support us eg. come in your classic part way with us, or to one of the collection points listed etc, or even a pint in the evening, we are always prepared to discuss the cars!

All of the run particpants are paying their own expenses entirely and all funds raised go 100% to the Children's Sunshine Home

We will be launching 4 Provinces and TCOC 25th Celebrations at the Mansion House on Saturday June 11th. There will be a cavalcade beforehand and a display of Triumph Cars outside the Mansion House from about 10am. (so if the 'ovver 'alf is in Brown Thomas why not pop along!)

To date we have raised just under €3,000! Our next major 'pre-event' collection day will be on Saturday July 16th at Blackrock's Frascatti Shopping Centre.

Over the weeks leading up to the weekend itself, I will update this thread with more accurate details, venues, schedule changes, additional collection points etc. I also intend to post here, pictures of events leading up to 4 Provinces as well as the main event itself

Thanks for Highlighting the Details and sharing with Other like minded Caraholics.

BTW in 2006 the TCOC did another fund raiser called Top to Toe in a Triumph, this was also over 4 Days and they managed to raise 52,000e for the Childerens Hospital Crumlin.

I will sticky this from a few weeks before the event to give it maximum attention here. PM me, OP, to remind me, say by the end of August! Feel free to give the thread a bump yourself just before the events in June and July

This Saturday, 11th June sees the offcial launch of 4 Provinces in a Classic at Dublin's Mansion House on Dawson Street. There will be a cavalacade from Kimmage (where the old Triumph Standard factory was) which should arrive at the Mansion House for 10am. On the day there will be up to 16 Triumph models on display outside the Mansion House - one from each that we have in the club. You could see a Stag, Dolomoite, TR4, 6 & 250, Herald, Vitesse, GT6, 2500, Spitfires and more. If you see us, make some noise and if you are the vicinity come along and support!

Photos should appear here (and hopefully in the press too) on monday.

I'm not on the organising committee of this however I do know that the provisional route map has been done. However it needs tweaking before publication. As soon as it is ready, I will organise it to be posted to the blogspot and if easy enough copied to here. I am reliably informed it should be ready in the next week or so.

Yesterday I joined my fellow members of the Triumph Classic Owners Club, TCOC in Blackrock to do a collection for the Childrens Hospice which is Irelands only one !! We had a few cars parked out the front and a number of us at the front and rear doors. The response was unreal. I had a number people saying to me while they put money in my bucket, I am really sorry its so little I can give!! it was a very moving day.
What a great result we collected 2864.00 for the day bringing the total so far to just over 9k.... to date. A drop in the ocean to what is needed but what a great start... Please support us when you see us its for a VERY good cause!!
Just a few photos from the day...

It is only a month to go before the start of 4 Provinces. To date we have raised €12,000 for Sunshine Children’s Home\Laura Lynn House

Here is the final route plan with some estimated arrival times. You should note that because we have 40 cars\62 people in four groups that departure times may take up to 15 minutes

Friday 16th September – Depart Sunshine Children’s Home 9.15am. We will take the M50 northbound to J9 and then the N7 to Naas. We will then go via Naas, Killcullen, Castledermot, Carlow, Bagnelstown, Kilkenny, Callan to Clonmel. We hope to arrive around 12.30pm for lunch and collection at the Poppyfields Retail Park (permit pending). We will depart Clonmel at 2.30pm and over the mountains via Kilmahon to Dungarvan. We then slightly double back on ourselves to go via Grange, Youghal, Killmartin to arrive in Cobh for late afternoon where there will be a collection. We are staying at the Bella Vista

Saturday 17th September – depart Cobh 9.15 and head for Cork. We skirt Cork to the north on the N20 and go via Rathduff, Mallow, Buttevant, Charleville, Banogue and Croom and avoiding the motorway via Patrickswell and Raheen we skirt Limerick to the west on the Dock Road. We then head for the Shannon Tunnel on the N18 and continue north via Gort and Ardrahan into Galway for mid-afternoon for a collection in Eyre Square – finishing at 5.30pm We Stay at the Connemara Coast Hotel

Sunday 18th September – Depart Connemara Coast at 9.15am. We will take the coat road R336 via Spiddal, Maam and Lenane where we turn onto the N59 for Westport. At Westport we take the N5 to Castlebar where will stop over the lunch period for a collection at Tesco. An afternoon departure takes us north on to the R310 via Pontoon and Knockmore into Ballina. From Ballina we will take the N59 via Skreen and Dromard to Sligo. We then will take the N15 northbound via Bundoran to Ballyshannon where we will be staying at the Creevy Point Hotel.

Monday 19th September – Depart Ballyshannon at 9.15am and continue to head north on the N15 via Donegal, Ballybofey, Castlefin and we cross the border from Lifford into Strabane. We then take the M50 south arriving late afternoon back at the Sunshine Children’s Home, Leopardstown.

Some changes from earlier posts mostly due to time constraints:-

Friday - Route amended via Youhgal instead of Mitchelstown, Watergrass Hill & Fermoy

Saturday – No stop at Ennis

Sunday – Route amended via Spiddal instead of Oughterard

Monday - No visit to Enniskillen

If you see us en-route – MAKE SOME NOISE!

The 4 Provinces in a Classic car run was held over the weekend. We as a club have raised over €42,000 (yes forty two thousand Euro) in aid of Laura Lynn House We were sent on our way by Miriam O'Callaghan and we had 39 cars with 62 people plus guests an all 39 cars completed the event with only one or two minor breakdowns - even a 1966 Triumph Herald 1200 made it at 20MPG and using over 4 Gallons of oil - luckily we were sponsored by ELF for the oil. My own car did 1221KM door to door. If you have supported us I'd like to say on behalf of the TCOC a big thanks and if you wish to make a donation please PM me and I will forward details of how you can do that.

Indeed, it was great to be a part of it.

Well done to all, and again ESP Alan Q, a massive amount of time and work involved.

Great cause, and delighted to see Ray Darcy following in our steps ;)
