    Hi there,

My Focus has 100k kilometres and is also due a service shortly. Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for or asking the garage to check with this particular distance on the clock? Good running order overall.

    It's a 2006 1.6L

    Thanks.

Have you ever had any trouble with water coming out of the windscreen washer tubing onto the top of the engine and going down into the plugs? Other than this i dont know of anything i have an 06 1.4L with similar mileage just over 104,000K

    1.6 petrol or diesel?

Either way, both the petrol and diesel, at the 100k/5 year service, assuming the proper scheduals have been followed up untill now, should only be an oil and filter change and vehicle inspection.

No, never any trouble with washer (the only small issue on that end of the car is the annoying click the wiper motor makes when it's on autowiper but I understand that this is a thing that affects all Fords)

It's petrol. It's had it's servicing on schedule. I'm the 2nd owner and I've only done about 14k km average a year since I got it. Majority is city driving though.

My previous car had a lot of problems which weren't identified at the service so since then I'm a bit wary, so I like to know what to ask.

I presume things like the clutch, timing belt etc. should be ok for the time being?

    Thanks for the replies.

The power steering pipe can leak, watch out for evidence of a leak were the pipe goes onto the pump. That and the water down the head are the Focus's biggest problems and are pretty cheap to repair.

Oh, I know all about those pipes! Failed about 3 months after I got the car when I was in a multi-story car park. Lost all steering. Ford fixed it for me and it was still under warranty. Any chance it can happen a second time?

The part was modified later, if you got one of the later pipes it should be OK.
