    Hi All

Since yesterday my phone has been intermittent with network coverage but today its showing "No Service". I called my network provider O2 and they did a network refresh on the number. It is still the same.

I have tried the sim on another phone and it works fine. Its covered under insurance so I will have to send it back for repairs. The phone is jailbroken, ssh on cydia and running on 4.1 (8B117). I assume I will have to restore the phone to factory settings or update to latest firmware before sending to apple :D.

    Any help much appreciated.

Ok quick update. I installed the latest firmware 4.3.3 and the phone is working perfect again. Weird

Edit: The phone was working fine but now its back to showing "No Service".... :(.
Looks like it gotta be sent back for repairs

Ok another update on this bloody saga.
I spoke with O2 about sending phone for repairs. They tell me to try the following "turn off 3G". It has brought the signal back to full strength.
That cant be the solution to the signal problem as I told her that before it auto switched to Edge when 3G was not available and that worked fine. But it has fixed it.

Anyone else have any problems with 3G and no phone signal ?

Been happening last 3 weeks, living in mayo so thought maybe network coverage had gone a bit wonky (usually fine for last 2 years) but brought to dublin last weekend, same thing,

into O2 shop, guy checked it out, knew his stuff, replaced sim, still searching, said sorry, back to apple.

upgraded s/w to latest, rang apple, did bits and bobs, then said no sorry, bring back to repair centre in galway (cant book in to make sure someone can fix on the spot)

have the phonecover insurance from zurich so thought ah well im covered here anyway.

posted form with 65 euro excess cheque (cant ring them to get sent a replacement, pain snail mail)

got letter back today "unfortunately we must decline to settle your claim as its an electrical, mechanical, breakdown or wear and tear damage and not covered.

how do they know what the problem is if they wont even look at it,

    aggggrrrr

I've seen a lot of 3GS iphones going like this, its a common enough problem, I'd demand it be sent in for replacement/repair.
turning off 3G is not the solution, its just bypassing the problem and in return giving you slow internet access

still going to cancel my account with O2 as their insurance partner, Zurich run a "sharp practice" approach. Im out of contract also.

Emobile tarrifs looks good for new iphone 4 bill pay - 62 pm I think?

no matter what I do with O2, they always manage to charge a whopping average of 90 pm
